Alaska’s Stephan Lake Lodge

Stephan Lake Lodge is located 50 air miles Northeast of the small town of Talkeetna and 140 air miles from Anchorage in the spectacular Talkeetna Mountains. Our lodge has been in operation since the late 1960’s and is one of the finest wilderness lodges in Alaska.

We offer a casual atmosphere and comfortable accommodations. The lodge overlooks Stephan Lake and is built of local spruce logs. Our large lounge has a natural stone fireplace and is a wonderful place to relax and share stories of the day’s adventure. The lodge overlooks Stephan Lake and the jagged peaks of the Talkeetna Mountain range.

We have world class chefs preparing your breakfast, lunch and dinner. We use the finest ingredients and locally sourced seafood, wild game and vegetables.  We accommodate dietary needs and requests when possible.

We are locally owned and operated with over 20 years of guiding experience in Southcentral Alaska. We are proud to call Talkeetna our home and look forward to the opportunity to share this wonderful country with you. We know you will love it as much as we do!

Unique to Stephan Lake Lodge is our series of outlying cabins. These rustic log cabins are warm, dry, and comfortable. They form a loop through the Alaskan wilderness and are a comfortable day’s walk from each other.

Our goal is that you have an enjoyable, comfortable and safe experience. Our staff know this country well and share our love and respect for it. You will receive the personal attention you deserve and a wilderness experience you will never forget.

HANDGUN BEAR HUNT – We had the pleasure of having our friends from firearms manufacturer Smith & Wesson visit our lodge and film an episode of “Smith & Wesson USA” to promote their 50-caliber revolver, the S&W 500 Magnum.
